I am now seeing other updates on the C6E support page, including the first update to the AI Suite III in a long time. I am hoping this may be a sign that a new Bios update is coming soon. Just hate how they are treating this board this time around. The Bios updates previously, were either before or days after updates to the Hero boards, but this is going on much longer.

Thanks to you both for this thread that specializes in the Crosshair VI Extreme. Based on your comments I downloaded the new BIOS and chipset driver. This board is not as common as the C6H so it is harder to find C6E posts.

A while ago I posted on allocation of PCIE lanes on this board, in case you are interested.

I really regret going with this board, the memory overclocking on it is actually the worst ive ever experienced. My G skill trident z 3600 c 15 ram is barely stable at 3333 c14, meanwhile ever other board i've tried with the same cpu and ram has outperformed:
    Asus Crosshair VII: 3533c14
Asrock X370 Taichi: 3500c14 (increased from 3466 with BCLK)
    MSI B450 Tomahawk: 3466c14
    Gigabyte Aorus Ultra: 3533c14

So its looking like I paid a premium for board that can't keep up with a budget B450. I've been holding out for the next bios update before deciding to sell the board, but I'm growing pretty impatient. I might consider a regular hero board in the future, but I don't think i'll ever buy a flagship from Asus again.

OK so I upgraded to 6903, here are my findings

If you get reading failed on the CAP file while trying to flash, please remove the CAP file from the root of your C:\ place it inside a folder you can then get round that problem.

The RAM voltage seems to be quite sensitive and there is a lot of drooping on my board. For example if I set 1.4v in the bios the actual voltage can drop as low as 1.325 min to 1.375 max, never reaching what has been set in the BIOS. so just keep and eye on it and check with several different software monitoring programs to confirm before you adjust
    offset.

RAM timings need to be a lot looser for my Hynix IC's I have Gskill Trident RGB F4-3200-C16GTZR 8GB x4 (hynix) XMP 16-18-18-18-38-58-1t 1.35v what was stable on 6401 BIOS is no longer the case with 6903. In order to run my hynix ram at 3200mhz ive had to loosen the timing to 16-22-22-22-53-75 1.4v on 6401 i could run 16-16-16-16-38-75-1t 1.4v

However on the plus side my CPU OC now runs the same at less voltage required which is a nice trade, but it would have been nice to retain the RAM settings from BIOS to BIOS especially moving forward as the platform matures. It wont be problem for long for as soon as the
Ryzen 9 3850X drops it will be in this board.

SO I am still tweaking and testing haven't really come across any glaring problems, so far so good!

Ok. Update to New Bios. My HyperX memory kit 2x8 @2133mhz still OC @ 3200 mhz at 1.35v and only with Timmings on auto. A weird thing for my 1800X when OC to 4000 Ghz with offset+ Mode volts on Bios are 1.40v , on windows with CPUZ show 1.34volts. Temps are ok when start cinebench test around 65 to 75 never pass 80 degrees but the weird thing is no matter the Temps and volt are safe the pc shutdown with a single debug code of 9. After reset a message on Bios Said CPU overhead. This never happened to me before with prior Bios. I will change the offset Mode to manual mode volts and see what happens. This new Bios have serious issue

This new Bios have serious issue

Its definitely quirky this BIOS, prob just needs some extra tweaks, that code 9 happened to me, unstable ram was the cause. I always run default stock for a few hours on a new BIOS update to make sure nothing is broken. I would advise that for now. then start your OC over again. in little steps one component at a time.
