Hello.

I am currently having 2 motherboards at home, but I must choose one to use it for my 9900k processor which i wish to oveclock with full EKWB loop. Second board will go to my brother and be usd with 8600k which is far less consuming processor.

Boards in question:

MAXIMUS X CODE (z370)

MAXIMUS XI HERO (z390)

Both boards have latest bios, Ijust wanna know which is "stronger " and better suited for 9900k with oveclock...all core 5ghz is target no more. I am asking because there is a lot of talk lately about VRM on latest asus boards and wanna have second opinion with which shall I go for each cpu ?

That's a tough one.

What I can recommend, since you are doing full loop anyway, Bitspower came out with monoblock for Hero. That should help greatly if you think of going that route.

As far as I know, they are the only ones doing the monoblocks for this generation of motherboards, I think they have one for Extreme as well.

Yeah I am leaning towards hero as vell and adding a monoblock would keep temps all down...I just wonder if you know if EKWB monoblock is also compatible...it was made for hero IX and is compatible with hero X so I wonder if it will also be good for hero XI ?

In CES 2019 they showed the EKWB booth, and they had what looked like MAXIMUS XI monoblocks on display. With Maximus written on the side and everything. I questioned them about this monoblock and all they said : the official announcement will come in few weeks. That was back in February.

on the outside the seem kind of similar, with screw layout and everything, but I can't really say what the internals are like and if they are compatible.

Don't know if you still care, but I remembered we talked about this a while ago. EKWB just released the new monoblock for Hero :
