That's implied if something helps with temps it helps with overclocking mate. When overclocking as you know temps throttle the CPU.

That statement makes no sense. Temps do help OCing period. That's why we cool the CPU with water to OC better. And chillers and LN2. And why you brought up the sardine sized IHS being a reason I could get the high OC. Geez go start your own thread on whatever it is your trying to make a point on.

No you fail to understand lol, if heat wasn't a issue then it wouldn't mater correct there for it doesn't help overclocking it helps the heat produced by overclocking, it's plan and simple.

One thing I do to get the fastest bench times possible is shutdown windows services that are not necessary to have running while benching. One of those is Windows Defender. Here are some tips to disable it (of course you should re-enable it when running day to day).

Run these commands in powershell as an admin:
    Set-MpPreference -DisableRealtimeMonitoring $true
    Set-NetFirewallProfile -Profile Domain,Public,Private -Enabled False

Then I run gpedit.msc and do the following:
Go to this path: Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender
Edit this policy and enable it: Turn off Windows Defender

After I am done benching before I reboot to get all the windows services back running I stopped, I run gpedit.msc and set the policy back to 'Not Configured'. Then I run the reverse on the one command I ran above:
    Set-NetFirewallProfile -Profile Domain,Public,Private -Enabled True

For some reason the reverse of the other command fails. I have to wait for Windows to prompt me to re-enable real time monitoring, when it does I click the message and then click the restart button on the security view it pulls up. And you are back with full anti virus.

Disabling the anti-virus, Hyper-V (most folks don't have this feature enabled prolly), and other unnecessary windows services prevents them from taking CPU while I am benching and gives me better scores on my CPU.

Just thought I would pass this along.

You can create a command file to stop all the services instead of manually stopping them which makes stopping windows services a breeze before benching.

    net stop '<service name>'

Just put a bunch of those in a command file for every service you want to stop before benching.

Here are my 4.8Ghz changes in the BIOS. I am just showing the screens I made changes on from the previous 4.6 BIOS screens I posted in this thread earlier. These are the settings I got the #8 position in 3DMark Time Spy Extreme CPU Score at 15483:

I also ran my GPUs faster and my OC to 4.9 and got #50 position (this one changes frequently) in Time Spy Extreme Overall with a score of 14432. When I get my GPUs under water I hope to improve this dramatically. And at 4.9 my CPU started throttling due to heat. I have some tricks to address the heat issue still with my CPU. My goal is 5.0 without throttling due to heat on water only.

IMO Intel's Zeon W-3175X is a very well built chip, the best in the business at the best cost/value. Paired with the ASUS Dominus Extreme you have the best rig you can get today imho. EKs water blocks for the CPU and VRM perform very well too.

After this is all said and done I have to decide if I want to do a custom chiller like I have done in the past on a rig that ran 24x7:

BTW that's an old ASUS Workstation MB. And yes that is 4-way SLI. The A/C cost $100 from a local Lowes. The other fittings, pumps etc. are pretty much the same stuff I use in a normal water cooling loop like I currently have, the Iwaki RD 30 pump and 1/2" tubing is a must for this chiller loop.

This took some time too do. I modified an off the shelf A/C put its radiator in a beer can cooler filled with a 50/50 mix of distilled water and antifreeze. The CPU socket had dielectric grease in it. The MB near the socket was painted with clear nail polish (non-conductive kind) and filled in with artist eraser to stop condensation. The tubes were insulated. This rig was able to get to -20 where Fahrenheit and Celsius converge on idle.
