    R4E: PCH plastic foil

On my PCH fan's radiator there is plastic foil, the kind of slim protective foils you can find on equipement. Maybe it is stupid question, but what is it doing there? ;-)
before you ask, I didn't put it there, I know it is silly but I've read the manual/qs guide, etc none of these mention this foil ...who knows maybe it is rocket science automagic foil? :P

But seriously, I assume I can safely remove this, maybe then my PCH fan will not stick around 3400 on silent mode waking up neighbours.

No, don't remove the "electromagnetic induced spectrum shield" or everything goes downhill!!

Seriously, i think it is a protection against scratches on a expensive mobo. IIRC the block with the ROG logo in my RIVE was also protected with a plastic foil.

I removed both and also disabled (we can disable a lot of things on this board lol) the X79 fan, because in my case it"s not necessary (temp ~ 38º C with amb. temp 31º C).

It's just a scratch film. Remove it.

Remove it, unless you'd prefer it to gradually peel itself off and end up floating around inside your case.
