Install of 2 x M.2 onboard Drives Rampage VI Extreme Omega

Found a design flaw which I consider should be changed.... When installing the 2 x M.2 Drives board to the bottom of the MB you need to remove the heat plate.

I installed the 2 drives screwed them in, attempted to re-install the heat plate only to find out you actually need to unscrew 1 x M.2 Drives and have to secured via the heat plate.

What a PITA.

The manual does indeed show one of the heat sink screws is used to hold the SSD in place. Did you remove the film on the top plate thermal pads?

Sure did.. Film removed and installed.

I'll be doing the same for the DIMM .2 slot for both M.2s...
