Powering off requires Start button

rank78
Level 7
For the last 6 months if I power off my PC it won't turn back on unless I press the Start (power on) button on the motherboard. Reboots are fine though. This started around the time my brother set it up for me after a cross country move so can't say it he flipped a switch or something. I really don't like it being on 24/7 and having to crawl under the desk to hit the button when it locks up or the power goes out.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the wire for the front power button is loose or damaged. Check the manual for the location of the two pins. If the connector is still on the pins but not working you can remove it and jump them with a small screwdriver to see if it's a problem with the wire/button.
