Problem with ASUS RAMPAGE VI EXTREME OMEGA: cannot detect memory
HI:
i'M having issues with my memory kits.
when I use the XMP 4000, many times the system does not boot and I see "code 80 system cannot detect memory" on the status screen.
Memory is on the qualified vendor list: G.SKILL TRIDENT Z, DDR4, F4-4000C18Q2-64GTZR PC4-3200 CL 18-19-19-39
Another annoying thing is that If I shut the PSU off, when I turn on the PC again, it shuts off for a second then turns on again.
I'm NOT overclocking, as the memory capacity is 4000hz by default.
can I get some help to stop this from happening, please?
Thanks in advance.

To get your memory stable I suggest throwing some extra voltage to the VCCSA and VCCIO. When I am OCing (even though your not, you are technically OCing the memory as far as the CPU is concerned) to get my XMP memory stable I have to do this. Also you could try manually setting the memory clock speed down one or two settings.
As far as the double pump at cold startup get used to it, it is a common behavior of MBs.Last edited by CharlieH; 04-27-2019 at 02:50 AM.

I have added 0.9700V to my VCCSA and I’m more stable now. I also added a 9900X which I think may have a better IMC than the 9800 I was using. Bumping the VCCSA likely will be needed. You should list all your hardware for review. Mine has always shutdown immediately on cold boot and comes right back up.*

Look for CPU system agent voltage. Here are some of my prior settings:

Hello,
Keep in mind that getting a kit that's on the QVL doesn't guarantee in any way that you are going to be able to run said kit at its advertised speed and timings.
For such speed on x299 especially on Skylake X HCC it's very likely for you to be limited by your IMC rather than by the dimms themselves not to mention that you populate all the slots.
In my recent experience with a 7980XE and tightly overclocked ram, I have found that b die or at least my kit was extremely sensitive to heat.
My kit is stable at 1.5V 1.27 VCCIO 3800 CL14 CR1 when maintained under 40°C .
Prior to identifying what my issue was I wasn't even able to run 3800 CL15 with CR2.
The thing is under prime or HCI the 18 cores running at 5GHz completely soak the PCB with heat and the dimms were reaching 60°C making them completely unstable even with a mediocre overclock.
All of this just to say that you should pay attention to the thermals of your dimms so that you don't run into the same issues that I did.
I hope that helps =)

If you have issues with booting, I strongly suggest you enable the training options of your memory in the bios and disable fast boots.
That did the trick for me to boot at 4300MHz (which was unstable)

Thanks, guys for all the help and fast reposes. I will change my settings with your recommended ones, and I will share the results.
EDITED: Following your advice, looks like memory is no stable and is not failed.
voltage adjusted and fast boot disabled.
Thank you very much for your advice, guys.
You are the best.
