Remounted the Noctua C14S 140mm cooler, now can boot and run single core benches at 5.6Ghz 6c12t, whereas that tiny 65mm noctua would only boot 5.5Ghz.

Still not too darn bad for such a small cooler.

    How about this? 4133Mhz 14-14-14-34 CR2

Now, that's a sweet AIDA 64 memory latency score.

Dat Z390 Dark and those surface mounted ddr4 dimms Doe!

Huh? Surface mounted???? You glue the ram modules to the cpu? <g>

WTG! You show that stuff off too much and someone is going to ask to pee in a cup.

The surface mounted ddr4 dimms is explained in this video below:

With the Z390 Dark EVGA NO DIMM PINs show thru the board - surface mounting.

Surface mounting is supposed to eliminate a few ddr4 artifacts when overclocking ... at least in theory.

Well, I doubt that Siliconlottery has any 8086's left ....heck the last time I checked regular 8086's were going for $900 (us) used on Amazon.

Yeah, I watched the video ....impressive; however, I'm not dropping Win7 for even that Z390 anytime soon ...although you had me entertaining the idea with your posts.

Thanx for sharing Bruce -happy trails.
