Max HDD height for GL553VD to use with 2TB hard drive?

    Hi,

i found a cheap 2tb external HDD so i'm thinking about buying it and replace it with the 1tb internal hdd i have in my laptop GL553vd, i'm wondering, what's the max HDD height for it ?

can i put 2 tb hdd in it ? or it's thicker and it will not fit ?

The external hdd is Adata hd650

    Hi,

Installing a single 2.5-inch drive of 7mm or 9.5mm thickness should be pretty safe.
Don't know that anything thicker will fit, but you may want to see if anybody else has more information.
    Thanks.

Hi mmohamed2, if you connect your Adata hd650 external hard drive and check device manager/disk drives or use other utilities, you can probably see what brand and model hard drive is inside to check the specifications which hopefully can be found online.

Assume you don't want to remove the hard drive from the Adata hd650 external hard drive housing yet, but if you do, you can also just measure the height with a metric ruler to check the thickness too.
