ASUS X570 Motherboard Lineup - Questions about RAM-OC

Hi,

I'm using an ASUS Maximus X Hero motherboard together with an Intel i7-8700K right now and I'm interested to switch the platform to AMD when Ryzen 3000 is released. I'm using 4x8GB DDR4 4000CL16 with my current Intel setup and as far as I know the intel based board has a specific type of configuration called "T-Topology" where it's possible to reach higher DRAM clock frequencies when using four modules instead of two.

My goal is to hit 3733CL14/15 with four modules when using a X570/Ryzen 3000 setup. I'm just curious if this will be possible because most X470 boards came with a Daisy Chain configuration and Zen+ struggled much more with four RAM modules than with two.

It's likely because Zen 2 defaults at 3200, but no one knows for sure yet.

In the same boat myself comming over from the x299 platform with 4x8GB tridentz 3600 CL16 I am going to reuse.

Luckily there is one x570 T-Topology board comming. The ASRock X570 Taichi. Going for this board due to my four sticks.

the memory support still is unknown. i was talking with a friend of mine. at least his memory does not work with ryzen 2000. so he has to get new. my rams do work with ryzen since are bdie and tested perfect 3600mhz with 2000 series. the question is... what you want more cores.... and if that can be cooled.

i will leave that there until the day. and sept with the one i want to get

Does seem as if AMD have improved top to bottom RAM MHz, hopefully headroom for overclockers is also good on RAM...

Dont change to Ryzen 3000 series and expect great CPU manual overclocking performance, it wont overclock much higher than the previous series anyway (100mhz-200mhz max)
Over time and after some bios releases the ryzen 3000 memory overclocking will start to shine, but right now..
Why would anyone even want to "upgrade" from a good CPU/platform as 8700K.. beats me

leave Ryzen 3000 on auto for best real world performance, cpu and component temps will determine the OC boost and the performance level rather than manual overclocking.. cooling is key, leave the rest to AMD

at launch Ryzen 3000 is going to give the reviwers out there a hard time ))

Today Ryzen 2000 OC very well on memory (3600mhz-4000mhz) on most chips as a maximum, but it comes with a downside, manual settings and knowledge is needed, XMP, auto and OC tutorials wont take it there

How Ryzen 3000 is going to perform with high memory frequency in the future is still unknown, maybe n00b friendly, maybe not

We have to wait and see.....
