Strix Z390I and the EK Monoblock

Has anyone done a build with this Monoblock?

https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-momentum-rog-strix-z390i-d-rgb-plexi

I am running a Z390I and an 19-9900kf, and the motherboard Is getting warmer than I'd like in my Phanteks evolve shift X. (build thread to come)

The catch is I'm not a huge fan of plexi water blocks, and EK say they won't release it in Acetal as there is "no demand".

Has anyone got any pictures of one installed, and under various lighting conditions? The EK stock pictures don't really show off the lighting very well.

Extra points for a GIF or clip of the addressable LEDs!

Thanks!

If plexi not your thing maybe look into watercool heatkiller block. Very nice quality

Maybe this will help, installed it into a Tristellar case.
There´s one led strip covering the Strix Z390i side.
Temperatures are much better now.

Thanks for the response and the pictures Mit.Ko! Apologies, I thought I'd thanked you previously!
Did you notice that only one screw was used where the "top" heatsink was replaced, contrary to the EK instructions?

I took the plunge and went for it... Pic below!

Looks good, Temperature decrease is only marginal... the "motherboard" temp in DIP will still easily reach 60.

Yes, no place for that extra screw...

For me it is necessary to tame the VRM temperature !

ya the instructions show to remove those 2 screws, then say to install 4 mosfet screws, and yet the image shows 3 screws ~ go figure.

do you have any pics of the back of the motherboard after install?
