Adding a new 8GB RAM module to my ROG GL503VM laptop

Hi all,

I want to add another 8GB of RAM to my laptop to total 16GB, but how do I know what is definitely compatible?

I have run Crucial system check and Speccy, with Speccy saying i currently have - 8.00GB Single-Channel Unknown @ 1197MHz (17-17-17-39).

Crucial have said this is 100% compatible https://uk.crucial.com/ProductDisplay?storeId=10153&urlLangId=-1&scanId=5CE0FB0D31D926C3&productId=9....

Will these two different modules work fine together?

Many thanks,

Diym

The best thing and as per most recommendations is to put a memory with the same specs and capacity. Same maker is not that important.

I just replaced in my GL503VM both rams with 2xCrucial Ballistix Sport LT, 16GB, DDR4, 2400MHz, CL16, 1.2v and it works perfectly.

You will notice a big change when you put the second RAM and it will change to Dual-Channel.
