M2 Boot

My PC has stopped booting from the M2 slot recently - this has not occurred before in the last 4 years with this PC.

To boot from M2 now I have to do the following steps (these do not save on shutting down the PC):

-When the power button is pressed it turns on & off twice
-Then gives the following screen:
----------------------------------------
"AMIBIOS(C)2014 American Magetrends, Inc.

ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO ACPI BIOS Revision 2702
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790k CPU @4.00GHz

Total Memory: 8192MB (DDR3-1600)

USB Devices total

Detected ATA/ATAPI Devices...
SATA Port1: ST20000DM001-1ER164
SATA Port2: TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224DB

Enter setup to recover Bios setting
Press F1"
----------------------------------------

I run the Bios and change:
Advanced>Onboard Devices Config>PCI Express X4_3 Slot (Black) Bandwith>M.2 Mode
F10 to save / reset

It then reboots and turns on/off

Then I reopen Bios>Boot>Boot Option 1>UEFI: Samsung MZHPV256HDGL-00000 (244198MB)
And, Boot>CSM>Disabled

(I have read to change these on other posts)

F10 to save / reset

Reboots fine using the M.2 ??

Any help would be appreciated as this is somewhat annoying!

Settings not saving sounds like a dead CMOS battery. Try replacing that or check it with a multimeter if you have one.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station…

Thanks - that has solved the issue!
