    Rampage vi extreme bio's 1902

    Greetings,

Has anyone updated to the new 1902 BIOS on the Rampage VI Extreme yet?

If so, has it fixed the random freezing and lockups BIOS 1704 had or made it worse?

Not going to make the same mistake I made when I upgraded from 1603 to 1704.

    Him
So far anything is better than 1704
9940x didn't like it and I had to do memory timing tweaks to run default ram speed
Still using the tweaks and 1902 seems fine.
Sure have not seen any freezing....

    Duff Bios

Updated to the new bios today, everything went well for about 30 minutes then I started getting random freezing. Manually entered the ram settings instead of XMP and it still freezes. Back to 1503 for me

Same thing for me. Lots of crashes all around under 1902. Went back to 1704 and no issues any more.

@Brockmonster: Since your system set up is very similar to mine; I’ll stick with the 1401 BIOS. Thanks for testing this.

Thanks for the clarification. Are the steps for reverting to an older BIOS the same as updating to a newer one?

I recommend using Bios Flashback https://www.facebook.com/notes/asus/...3135218050268/

    Hi rzotti,

Many thanks for the link. I had reviewed Asus’s website and the manual looking for this and didn’t come up with accurate results.

I still have a copy of my 1401 BIOS for use if necessary. This is fortunate since as you know Asus took down the 1401, 1500 and 1600 series BIOSes. I'm unsure why.

Thanks again for your kind advice.
