I just asked the store where I bought my CM to get a refund. I'm done. I didn't buy a new CPU to spend my summer as a beta tester. gl

With the new Ryzen Balanced Profile, my r5 3600 now jumps between at 3600Mhz @1.119v min and 42000Mhz @1.1~.1.3ish v for workload as little as 1% load..
Why do you care what the voltages and temps are? The processor knows the silicon limits and it's completely safe.

Maybe instead of overreacting and throwing a temper tantrum every 5 seconds without taking a second to step back and analyze the situation you wouldn't be so flustered and frustrated and taking out your own lack of knowledge and inexperience with the subject on the experts. If you had taken 5 minutes to read the detailed brief you may better understand the situation and why they chose to set the 'minimum processor state' in the power plan to 99%.

I'm not sure why the new Ryzen Balanced has 99% as min in the powerplan settings, but changing it to 1% definetely improves temps/fan speeds. And it is still boosting pretty well.

From what I've seen on diverse forums, AGESA 1.0.0.3AB bioses looks to have worse boost behaviour. Good Asus stayed at 1.0.0.2 until things are sorted out, 1.0.0.2 boost is functional.

Good for you taking care of the situation, maybe you will be happier with another system. As far as Ryzen 3000-systems go, things does NOT look better for the other vendors. These bugs are universal for the Ryzen 3000 platform, I wouldn't blame Asus in particular.

"I'm not throwing a temper tantrum" he said, in the middle of a temper tantrum. I'm not sure how working IT and having a background in software engineering qualifies you to talk about the processor hardware and drivers like you know more than AMD do. You should know that a lot of stuff goes on behind the scenes and being an armchair expert on things at a high level/client end makes you look silly. Or should I assume that you're about to grab a scope and start doing your own actual testing to prove how the power management is a joke and your comments aren't purely based on what is being reported in monitoring software.

You weren't missing anything, those are bugged, terrible temps and performance. The bios on the product page is much better. We are all waiting for a somewhat mature bios.

I too was having issues with high reported idle voltages after the chipset driver update and new powerplan. What I did was close programs that I had running and I discovered that the Epic launcher and Battle.net where both keeping the voltages high. As soon as I closed them the CPU would idle down to .9v and sometimes down to .2v, all while leaving the minimum powerstate in the Ryzen powerplan at 99%

    Cheers,

    Chris
