Yes, I was flashing BIOS 2701 and nothing has changed.
I hope it goes well and you get your replacement soon!

Ok 2606 boosts to 4300-4350 for me compared to not boosting at all in 2701, but it's not the 4400 from 2501.
But i'll take it if the C5 doesn't happen after i power off the PC completely.

EDIT: got a BSOD irql_not_less_or_equal after typing this post but it's probably either DOCP or fast boot enabled (can't get into bios with fast boot enabled, like the keyboard isn't here when the F2 or DEL window is open), maybe even a keyboard/mouse conflict, somethings strange with that, also in device manager.

I've been playing with the BCLK on my C6H. Been running it at 103 and on my 3600 it now boosts to 4.2ghz in-game like it should be doing by default.
None of the bios both 1.0.0.2 or 1.0.0.3 varients has boosted to 4.2 consistently. By using BCLK I have proven my CPU is more than capable to run at 4.2ghz and above. Clearly the SMU is at blame here combined with frozen TDC & PPT readouts.

I hope the next few bios resolve this once and for all. It's sad that after a month basic things like this are still broken.
But at least in the meantime, I have a "trick" to get what I paid for.

This BSOD basically indicates a bad memory overclock. Better set the values manually from Ryzen Calculator

Great to hear that it works on CH6, but on CH7, setting the BCLK manually makes CPU drop the frequency to the base level and it stops to boost.

Before you'll spend the time on warranty claims, check this out https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/2...impact-on-gpus

The difference is within the margin of error, so unless they can exchange the CPU for you on the place in the store, it may not worth the hassle.

It does that on the C6H. What you need to do is set the BCLK in the bios. Then set Core boost to Enabled.

Boot into windows and load Ryzen Master. Then select Profile 1 to either default or PBO and click apply. You can then close RM and it will boost with the BCLK applied.

Bit of a pain having to load RM each boot, but that is the only way for now

It doesn't matter in this context. If he has a flawed CPU, he should get a replacement. End of the story. The CPU may/might have more issues down the line that aren't as visible yet as his PCIE issue.

Whats the point of IDLE desktop test when nothing is under load ???

If drivers ect are not getting pushed you wont see any problems... I was testing while running WoW + ramtest + youtube. So Could find weakest link.
