It was fixed for me with the 1.0.0.3 based BIOS on C6H (7302), the ones in the first post.

'beta' software is just that - pre-release software WITH bugs. Also, I can also assure you that the power plan setting was NOT the fix for Destiny 2 - it was something a bit more complex than that.

It's widely known that Ryzen power plans have this 99% setting, which is dead easy to change.

For anyone thinking of using that beta - it breaks SVM (for some), so if you use virtualization, don't install the beta. New version is incoming.

so, basically, the Rdrand bug isn't so much about rdrand instruction being bugged, but more that it's not supported by Zen2 anymore?

    Attachment 81198
Support is optional as stated in manual. Did you install beta chipset drivers? Maybe they just switched this instruction off.

Is this the chipset driver fix?

Yes, that's with the beta chipset driver fix installed -> AMD_Chipset_Drivers_v1.07.26.0551

Forcing the CPU to sit at normal max speed, is not a fix for destiny 2, I know. It's to fix the idle/boost (I'm lost at this point) issue. What "scares" (more like piss me off) me is that they will make this lame workaround permanent in their microcode software.

There will probably be another chipset driver release with improved ryzen balanced, and this "tweak" disabled so that people can rely on the ABB update instead.

Without the beta installed, the instructions are there

Ok, so it's an issue with the beta chipset drivers. Thanks. reverting.

I was wondering why the f*k they removed an(two) instructions that were supported by their previous CPU gen without telling anyone. So, the fix is probably to not make them available to force the game to use another mean to generate randomness.

It's not an "issue", it's part of the fix.
The beta driver disables RDRAND and RDSEED functions for Zen2 and therefore Destiny2 falls back to a Software-RNG instead of trying the faulty RDRAND over and over.

That IS NOT a fix and IT IS an issue

RDRAND and RDSEED are greyed out with (beta and official) or without the chipset drivers on the C7H with bios 2501, so, it def not the chipset drivers that disabled the two instructions.
