    Post Well...

OK, guys. PBO is completely broken and doesn't work with any RAM frequency except "Auto".
After tweaking for several days, I ended up with Core Voltage offset -0.075 and manual LLC at Level 1 and RAM OC to 3666 and very tight timings(RAM 1.35V)
This way I have exactly the same performance with variation within the margin of error but shaved ~8C at full load and power consumption went down 25W(all system). This way you can have a RAM OC and quiet and relatively cool system. This is the best you can do until the BIOS will be fixed.

Dunno. Only thing I can think of is if you're not manually setting ProODT then [Auto] has a differing default for UEFI 2406 & 2501 vs the other releases.

I always set ProcODT manual, my default is 36.9 Ohm, tried 34 Ohm worked at 3733 but not 3800. Rock solid in 2501.

Or use 2501 which is fully functional, only has boot issues, but if you are able to boot all is fine(except Destiny 2).

Latest chipset drivers include a fix for Destiny on older (pre 1.0.0.3ABB) BIOS

Yes, I forgot, but several Linux distributions can't boot on 2501 while they can on 2701. But for Windows usage 2501 is still more complete, and 2701 introduces new bugs like you must set PCIE manual or Windows will be unstable not exactly newbie friendly.

Nor is it that boost is broken, will raise lots of complaints from newbies. The hardcore OC crowd is not bothered.

    Well, I'm stumped!

I did ask on OCN as well, but got same answer I gave you. It does appear like it could be your CPU. Did you try update to 2602 or 2701?

Where did you get the CPU? Do you have a local store that might be able to test it for you?

Didn't set PCI-E, TBH never set it on any UEFI of AM4/SP3r2.

Boost stock CPU is fine for me on 1.0.0.3AB & ABB, where I note difference is PBO+xxxMHz. On a UEFI prior to 1.0.0.3AB I will have ~4.3-4.34GHz ACB when using PBO+150MHz on non extreme CPU loads, on later UEFI CPU barely breaks past 4.275GHz, see WMVs in this ZIP.

People may just have to accept boost behaviour if AMD do not change SMU FW parameters, link.

2701 vs 2602 has much better "recovery", when board Q-Code: F9 it will do short retry POSTs.

2701 vs 2602 also seems to remember some parameters of "train up" IMO, as only on initial settings setup do I have a longer POST, subsequent POSTs regardless of restart from OS/power up from shutdown will be quicker.

I didn't like the fact UEFI 2406/2501 didn't do shutdown & train up when some settings were changed in UEFI, as I do believe this is required for decent POST train up, UEFI 0068 did and was fastest vs 2602/2701.

I quite like 2701, if I knew how, I'd love to mod in the SMU FW of AGESA 1.0.0.2 and I reckon with that boost behaviour it would be a real nice UEFI.

I was going to ask if you had any success with that?? I thought you had??

Have you tried reseating the card? I had that issue with my old 2700X. When I took the card out to clean it, it somehow fixed the x8 issue.

Worth a shot only takes 2 mins to try it
