You still haven't said which GPU, there was exactly that bug with some recent AMD cards, don't remember the details. I think it was solved with a new driver.

But as someone alreday said, reflash the bios using Bios Flashback, something may have gone wrong during the flash.

Go into the bios. Go to the Tools menu>Graphics card information.

That will tell you for certain which mode it's operating at.

I must admit, the last bios setting I gave you should have fixed it.

What gpu do you have, and which programs are telling you the card is running X8?

I have installed palit game rock 1080ti.
I look at pci-e mode in BIOS-TOOLS, additionally in GPU-Z.
NVME is installed in the lower slot.
    BIOS ver. 2501

I want to say that with a 2600x processor the video card starts at 16x, but does not start at 3700x.

Sounds like a BIOS glitch. However, you don't need to worry about it, since in the case of 1080Ti, x8 band can't restrict its performance in any way. As tests showed, it can only restrict 2080Ti with a massive OC by 1-3% which is within the margin of error.

Angry many user feel the limit of patience.

the new official bios based on 1003AGESA of CH7 CH6 X470-I not updated yet at ASUS.com

beta bios in this Thread is very unstable.

many ryzen 3000 with radeon 5700xt user suffer from old junk bios.

when user can use new official bios?

the situation is unprecedented in latest support of ASUS.

Where will the ABB BIOS be released?

The current 1002 and 1003AB has some issue with the fan control, the fan will stop suddenly without any warning.
When is the ABB BIOS coming?

Agreed. The worst thing that nearly every other ASUS board already received updated BIOS. All my friends with AsRock/MSI/Gigabyte enjoying high ram OC and high PBO boost. I sincerely believe that my CH7 was the last product I ever purchased from ASUS. I understand that developers are busy with x570, but this is not our problem after all.

You didn't read Shamino's post about ABB. You will not get higher boost. It will be same as AB which was already lower boost than 1002. So lower your expectations.

As for ram, i oc'd mine from 3200 to 3733 with really tight timings but 3800 is no go on either 2501 or 2602. Don't expect magic there either. Some ram can do 3800 but mine won't, but with such tight timings i don't think 3800 will be better for me anyway with loose timings.

Reading between the lines, this is more about Asus actually releasing OFFICIAL BIOSes rather than Dropbox links for their supported platforms, like other manufacturers are. Remove MSI out of the loop (due to their faux par with the BIOS RAM sizes), both Gigabyte and ASRock have been regularly releasing updates via official channels, Asus haven't - they're not even in the same category and their support email is woeful.

And before I get shouted at by some members on here, ROG Forums are not an official release method and we shouldn't have to rely on one individual (Shim) to get releases to us.

busy devlopers are just ASUS's internal consideration.

this is no skin off user's nose.

demanding appropriate support for product is user's natural RIGHT
