Assuming that is correct I decided instead of worrying about idle temp I should watch load temp.

    Ryzen 3800x (Stock Speed)

    RAM: DDR4 3200
    MSI RTX 2080Ti Trio (Overclocked)
Power Profile: Ryzen Balanced (Latest AMD release)
I tweaked fan curves to prevent fans from maxing out at random when mouse is moved.

Running Assassins Creed Odyssey benchmark, 2560x1440, max settings CPU temp jumps between 67-70C.
Would you consider that perfectly normal/safe temp?

Fan's ramp up less than before but still louder than any PC I've had in the past.
I'd like to further tweak the fan curve to only hit high RPM when temp passes 70C but wanted to make sure 67-70C is safe & not throttling before I make any other changes.
You have to rely on the latest version of Ryzen Master for a more accurate temperature reading, according to AMD. Until the rest of monitoring sofware gets updated accordingly, what you're seeing is not representative of the current temperature of your CPU.
In space no one can hear you scream.

Never have had a problem with this C7H mobo and the 2700X before. Issues with the 3900X and the 2501 BIOS.

Anyone else getting No keyboard detected randomly at reboot? Press reset and the keyboard is found. Annoying.
People were reporting that fan control issues came back with the most recent bios on the Asus download page (and iirc the one just before that too). With the radiator fans being connected to the motherboard header but running at 100%, I don't know if the fans will still randomly shut down. I don't know if the fans still suffer from random shutdowns if the bios is not actively adjusting their speed up/down.

It's logical it needs better/more cooling than previous cpus.

    A. The die is tiny and have it hard to dissipate heat.

    B. These are overclocked to their limit from the factory.

Want quiet? Undervolt and downclock, it will be quiet while still faster than Ryzen 2000.

I guess the next step in troubleshooting would be to power the radiator fans directly off the PSU also and avoid the cpu fan header on the motherboard.

Sounds like the right move, I'm lucky with my H150i running fans/pump from the SATA power line.

Yep. I wouldn't feel confident in the pc working away like that, unattended, knowing the fans could randomly shut down. It's been a huge flaw that really hurt my impression of Asus as a quality brand I could trust.

If you have Sonic Studio and Sonic Radar installed, they cause slowdowns on my 3900x. To check run RealBench 2.56 - Image Editing benchmark (run 3-4 times) and see your scores. If its very low below 150k then try uninstalling both and see. My scores were 130k and now back to 190k. Removing both doesnt remove the realtek audio driver so can remove them.
