You shouldn't have to close programs, after all a processor is for running things. But preventing them from auto starting is a good idea.

Anyway, things got cooler and more quiet when setting it at 1%, looks to be working too.

You seem rather rushed to me. If you read everything you'd know the voltages you're seeing are quite normal for Ryzen 3000. My machine worked well on default settings, on the last official bios (2501)

And how is any of this the fault of ASUS?

From what I've seen on diverse forums, AGESA 1.0.0.3AB bioses looks to have worse boost behaviour. Good Asus stayed at 1.0.0.2 until things are sorted out, 1.0.0.2 boost is functional.

because zen 2 doesn't work like you think it does.

cores can go from base clock to powered down, the 99% min clock keeps it ready to go from base to boost at a lower delay.

this was all in the pdf robert posted.

If you had taken 5 minutes to read the detailed brief you may better understand the situation and why they chose to set the 'minimum processor state' in the power plan to 99%.
Sounds like he had his mind set on something else in the first place.

I wanted to give you some info that I have collected since the updates have come out.

If I have Discord, Twitch and Battle.net running in the taskbar (plus playing WoW) I see this https://i.imgur.com/qFmT1bA.png

Any combination of Discord, Bnet, and Twitch running and I see this as well https://i.imgur.com/qrOv9WY.png

As soon as I close them I see this https://i.imgur.com/pzkH9tX.png

I don't see this behavior with Origin or Uplay when they are running in the Task Bar.

So far with my install I have seen that the following game apps show high vcore during idle (seen in both Ryzen Master and HWInfo)

Discord, Battle.net, Epic Launcher, Twitch, Teamspeak

As soon as I exit these programs the cpu seems to idle as normal (as seen in Ryzen Master and HWInfo) while using the new Ryzen Balanced power profile.

    Cheers,

    Chris

right now i only have the links for x570 for 1003ABB
    - dont be looking for boost changes, the higher booster is only due to the 1002 smu f/w, 1003's smu f/w is not the 'high booster', why the newer smu is a 'weaker' booster one can only guess.

C6H with Bios 7302 is working extremely well. 4x 8gb B-Die I am running at 3733, cold boot issue resolved. Also running PCIe 4x which is stable - zero crashes while gaming, benchmarking etc.

My 3900X working fine. Except cant boost over 4,3ghz and also voltages are constantly high. 1.4-1.5V
Voltages and clocks go down after i close some background apps steam, discord, bnet...
Not really sure if there is any problems in bios or chipset drivers.more like windows or specific program problem.

I try to adjust power plan

Indeed - let's hope AMD can revert that with AGESA 1.0.0.4.
