Has anyone gotten a freesync display working on the G751jt?

Hey all, so I picked up an hp 27xq, not sure if I'll keep it at this point but my 970m is actually doing better than I expected running games at 1440p, it seems like the bump in resolution doesn't really have a big effect on fps, I'm still just limited by the other graphics settings.

Anyhow, I'd love to be able to use variable refresh rate, however I've seen that nvidia apparently is only supporting freesync on 10 and 20 series cards due to needing displayport 1.2a, I was curious if maybe this machine happens to have the right displayport version and there might be a workaround?

Its not supported on the GPU level, you cannot "hack" your way into supporting it.
