hi iamjayemsi i too have a Strix Flare until yesterday mine refused to update Firmware
it wasn't until i unplugged it and put is directly in to my USB hub (rather then into the back of my computer it finally did the firmware update from 0.000.35 to 0.00.38 and no it doesn't allow you to save the update file as you have to use the ROG Armoury software to do it
