More lanes with the CPU, fewer PCIe slots on the motherboard
Certainly, there are M2 slotsSorry for my english

What good is 48 lanes if you cant use them?
I dunno about power delivery limiting an OC. I get a 9940X to 5Ghz on the R6E and VRMS under a Heat Killer VRM Block...NOT MONOJUNK....never passes 32C fully loaded.
This board just looks like a slightly better designed Omega to me.....what the Omega should have been in the first place.

Sound like it, but I think that's only half side of the story. I don't think it's possible to crank up the clocks much beyond that anyway what the R6E can handle without a water chiller in the loop, since the heat just cannot escape quick enough from the CPU to the waterblock & water. My WC setup is not the best or efficient, but I have 360mm Monsta + 480mm XT45 rads and I am struggling at 4.5 GHz already at only 1.17 V on 7980XE. Direct-die will help (or a custom IHS), but still temps go easily over 90C on cores when stressing with Prime. I am just one of those guys who uses Prime to test the worst-case scenario and it has worked me good for years so I am going with it, although not only with it. Of course for gaming I could easily do 4.6 already.

I run my 7980XE at 1.23V on 4.6Ghz my CPU isn't a great clocker sadly, I use a custom nickel plated IHS with a sanded die, I only test with realbench to find a stable 8 hour OC, after that I use it in daily usage in programs like VS and UE4 for compiling or cooking, my temps can spike up to 93C but normally say around the 80-85c underload, I run a adaptive voltage of 1.3v with a neg offset to scale it back to 1.23v which wasn't possible on my R6E it would crash but I have no issues on the R6EO, I hate pushing a manual voltage when its only in idle also saves on my power bill, but yeah my loop isn't as good as yours its just a basic setup.
