Are you sure the 500 GB is not working ? if you go in advance mode in the BIOS, in the section boot, under hard drive BBS priorities , did you see the 500 gb ? , make sure to install only the 500 gb .... if you 500 don't work and you don't want to use a 160, the only option is to buy a new HD, if you ask me, I never use a used drive in a new build.

yes is not there, only the dvd appears. And its absurd if days ago i power off my old computer and put the new parts. In fact i havent even move the hdd. I only have the dvd and the 500gb connected to the first row serial ata ports. The red light is there shining...

The HDD is not working, and i dont think its the cable i use the one that comes with the corsair 850, one cable that has to power ata connector, i connect the other HDD(160gb) and works good and its much older hdd... Only the dvd drive is detected.

hey! after a long try and error, i managed to see the 500gb HDD, BUT without connecting the dvd and The RED LIGHT is there..even if the HDD worked, so.. now i´ll try connecting in different ports, if not, i´ll try as media serial ata?

what do i do with the red light?

Update: i managed to se the HDD and dvd. i connected the HDD to the Asmedia port, and the dvd to the serial ata, only those. But i still see the red Light. Now i have to options: a) install win7 without caring about the red light b) updating the bios will fix this? T.T dont know what to do guys, someone...

Install the OS, go to device manager once installed and see if there are any exclamation marks next to devices

Hmm, ok. Thanks for the advice, ill do that. Does this mean that maybe i need to update the bios. Someone here told me is better to do before installing the OS.

Update: I install windows successfully im gonna keep updating windows, and installing all the software needed. The Red Light is gone now, but there are some devices i havent connected yet. The other HDD, the VCC data+-, and 2 more serial ata, are not connected yet. I´ll post an update tomorrow to see how its going.

Thanks the wonderful guys in this forum that helped me through this adventure, everything i learn here i´ll share with people that having the same troubles. Oh ill post pictures too Dont worry jaja
