USB header on Maximus XI Extreme?

Hello!

I recently built a PC with:

  • Intel i9-9900k
  • Asus Rog Maximus XI Extreme
  • Nvidia GTX 1080
  • Corsair H115i Premium
  • G.Skill Trident Z RGB Series 16GB

And I was looking to connect the USB from the H115i to the Mobo, however, as shown on the picture below; there are two USB-headers with different voltages.

The manual from Corsair only says: "Using the included Corsair Link™ USB cable, attach pump unit to a motherboard USB header".

So my question is simple, which one do I have to use?

What this is telling you is the trace routes USB P8 - & + and then USB P12 - & +

So what I see is two identical headers, there is no real differences (apart from identification) and specifically they both have same voltages, that is +5v rail, a -5v rail, a ground (gnd) that are all in identical positions.

H115i quick start manual shows left (usb2_e78) one as correct, the asus manual as mentioned above, says it really does not matter.

Hope you find this of help 😉
