Z390-E GAMING RAM Advice needed

Hello everyone !
I really need some advice on 16 GB RAM for my PC. I am looking to buy G skill 4000 cl17, but found few reviews people saying that it doesn't work (F4-4000C17D-16GTZR)
So, I found a new set F4-3200C14D-16gtzr, but it seems only non rgb (16gtz) version is supported according to QVL.
So my question is, what RAM should I buy that is best for gaming and that was will 100% work on that motherboard? Any help will be much appreciated. Thnx guys!

Did you use the G.Skill ram configurator?

https://www.gskill.com/configurator?page=2&cls=1529635169&adSearch2=Tested_Speed%C2%A74000MHz,&manuf...

You should better "expect" the ram will run (stable) only at lower speeds (maybe) due to the quality of the memory controller on the cpu and the mobo quality itself.

BUT

i own a maximus XI Hero and asus released a new bios - which gives me a much better memory quality (maybe the strix got a new bios too?)

got the 32gb 4000-17-17-37 and it runs max 3.900mhz CL17 with

CPU VCCIO Voltage 1,20625v
CPU System Agent Voltage: 1,20625v

now running 4000-17-17-37 @4000mhz

CPU VCCIO Voltage 1,00v
CPU System Agent Voltage: 1,1v

still testing....

RealBench 2.56 / Kahru MemTest works over a day BUT HCI MemTest Pro gives me errors (i used at this time the intel default voltages 0,950v & 1,05v)

When you expect the system is stable its not ^^

I do my my backups with macrium reflect home and during the verify i got crc errors (so i know something was wrong).

As you can see - you need to test/tweak ^^ hope this helps a bit 🙂

Edit: and before the new bios VCCIO & SA voltage over 1,4x v did not help here!

And warning: using AUTO on these voltages gives you over 1,4xv!

thank you for your response. but i have no idea what that all numbers mean ;):D
just want as fast as possible, and mobo to work with it:cool:

I have still problems with my kit it isn't so easy to get this kit stable ^^

now i lower to 3.200mhz and check if i can get this error free 😛

You might need more VCCIO/VCSSA voltage.

Ended up buying G.skill trident rgb 3200 16-18-18-38 2x16GB
Don't know if i made a right decision, as my primary goal is high fps in games. I stopped at this kit and G.skill neo 3600 18-22-22-42 2x16GB. Price was exactly the same for some reason...
Does anyone know if that kit can be overclocked?
P.S. its not on QVL list for z390.
