Can we talk about this meanwhile?

I might be tempted to try out the i9-10980XE. Will it work with an X299-E? Considering my configuration (the profile) are some issues foreseeable?

for normal usage i would say no. board got new bios so that is good sign, but if you want overclock i will definitely advise some cooling over VRM. and don't know how powerful overall is VRM on E-gaming 1, considering new E-gaming 2 VRM looks little bit beefier

Only Theoretical but still not a Real Security vulnerabilities.
The PC needs to be Infected first with a Virus/Worm but after that no any Hacker would exploiting CPU vulnerabilities xD
