    hiya Hopper64,
Let me know how this works out. I'm fickled on whether to upgrade from my 7900X to either the 10900x or the 10920x.

Don’t think that there’s a big performance boost going from the 7900x. Check the benchmarks. I’m a hardware enthusiast more than a gamer so a modest improvement doesn’t bother me, but many will not upgrade simply because it’s not much of an upgrade at all.

    Hi,
Only worth would be if clx can oc farther price is obvious

Seen a 10900x on an encore at hair less than 5.0 and scored 150+- lower than my old 7900x on a cheapo mark 2 at 4.8 on R.20.
    Sometimes 5.0 is anticlimactic

Wouah intel Rocks !!! Cascade lake annoucement October, release date end of november and stock date next year ... It changes of 8700K/9900K and their shortage ...

I remember a time where new asus rocking mainboard like Rampage Black/Maximus Extreme were available several month after the release date of the CPUS, now it's the opposite.

There are good price for Skylake-X Refresh now but i'm sure that we can expect more OC on cascade lake X ... for the same price.

I wonder at OC equal of course
    The voltage being different

Indeed, I have seen benchmarks where the 10980XE is worse than a 7980XE (equal OC)
But it may be (and I hope) that it is because of a bios or microcode or... too young
    Sorry for my english
