ASUS P6T WS PRO question about RAID 1

I'm planning a simple home server build and will run Windows Server 2008 R2. Will I have any problems running the OS on a RAID 1 with two WD Velociraptors using the on-board SATA controllers, or should i purchase a RAID hardware pci-e card?
