ROG strix G731GT laptop (9750h) runs memory at 2133MHz and not 2400. BIOS problem?

Hello. I have a brand new Asus ROG Strix G laptop (G731GT) and I have installed some additional ram. The laptop had 8GB 2666 RAM and I had a spare module of 16GB 2400.

When I plugged it in I saw that the RAM is clocked at 2133 now. Why is it not downclocking to 2400 and it goes all the way down to 2133?

Anyone with a similar problem?

Thanks.

Hi, try removing the faster module and test the speed when running the slower stick (in slot 1).
Check the speed it runs at, If it's running at 2400, then it's probably an incompatibility issue between the two sticks.
Are they both the same voltage? Same Cas Latency value? could be the cause.

Probably best to purchase a new Stick of the same spec as the original and remove the issue.
