Hi AnonGhost...no, that board doesn't have this feature. If you want to upgrade bios use EZ flash 3 in the BIOS...see your manual for how....

Does ASUS ever plan on FIXING this bugged feature? It does not work unless USB flash drive is formatted with Diskpart. If formatted NORMALLY, using Windows right-click Quick Format FAT32, the flash drive will not work. It's obviously a ridiculous and absurd bug that ASUS continues to neglect over and over and over again. When will this undeniably excessive incompetence and laziness to properly implement this feature come to an end?

I tried 3 different ones from USB 2.0 to 3.0 from 3 different vendors with identical results on both Z77 and Z370 from ASUS. Plenty of other people have the same issue, which is why the DiskPart guide was posted to begin with. There IS a problem with how ASUS implemented it's Flashback feature.

I'm not sure why Diskpart works so well for many people...I have been advising this method for formatting the pendrive ever since it worked for me.
I think a lot of pendrives come "named" from the manufacturer. i.e. if your pendrive shows up in explorer with a fancy name instead of a drive letter anything you put on it is not on the root of the drive....something like that...
Diskpart seems to wipe off any nonsense and gives you root of the pendrive and it shows up with a simple letter name in OS.
So, I guess it's a pendrive maker thing more than an ASUS thing. BIOS flashback works fine on the root of a FAT32 formatted drive...

Question guys, I just want to make sure.
It looks like my Maximus X Apex motherboard CAN be flashed back to an older bios. (Z370) According to my manual
I named the file M10A.Cap
I have not tried this yet, I want to make sure I can flash back to an older bios 1st.
Thanks guys..
Mike...

Hello OldMike65
It looks like you named the bios file correctly, you can revert to any bios version using bios flashback or the EZ flash utility in the bios.
