Hi there Splmann, I found that the correct filename is "C5F.ROM". But still nothing... I can't get to POST or enter BIOS, nothing...
tell me if you have any success.

Im thinking on buying another CPU, i found someother forum that with a supported CPU (someone on the supported list with BIOS 0506).

    Good luck

Removed my post which was as I didnt realise how to update the BIOS. In case anyone else wanted to know, all I had to do was load the flash drive through the BIOS itself. I was trying to boot the P.C from the flash drive - thinking that it would update that way.

I've never had to update BIOS before. I'm now happily running with the 1102

    Best Regards

    Hi ROG community,

What is the file name my Maximus IV Extreme-Z mobo will be looking for? Is it M4EZ.ROM or M4E.ROM?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Kittendoggie

Looks like the file you would need to change the BIOS update to is M4EZ.ROM.

    Hahaha!!!

I learnt about this the other day after someone tripped over the powercord whilst the RIVE was flashing the BIOS in windows.... After a trying to repowerup I was greeted with this message:

Turns out, I managed to fruit off both BIOS chips in my shiny new mobo, though it didn't become a complete lemon!! Reviving the motherboard took less than five minutes!! Awesome!

Thanks bro. Does the USB stick have to be only formatted to fat32? Or it has to be empy too and containing only the bios file? Will the mobo be able to find it if the USB stick has more stuff on it and the bios file is on the root directory?

You should format it in FAT32 empty, but it should work if the file is just in the root directory.
