Downloaded chipset from Asus website, will not install gives fatal error. Any answers? Thank you in advance. Asus X299-E Rog Strix Gaming.

It was Intel Management Engine Driver which require ME Firmware for working together. Check you ME Firmware on the first page of UEFI BIOS.
Then install the correct version of driver.*

The lastest Intel Management Engine Driver was 1919.14.0.1269 DATE 05-07-2019 for all SKYLAKE X SKUs.

Thank you for the quick reply. I went in to Bios ME Version, 11.11.60.1561 Tried to install from the link provided but get fatal error while installing.

I'm still on Version 11.11.65.1590 the official asus

can I install the driver above you posted it will work best for this firmware ?

Kindly check start menu find device manager then search “ Intel *Management *Engine Interface “ on System component.

Right click choose update driver then browse on the ME files that you’re download from link above. Select Win64 sub folder.
Click next from menu to update MEI driver manually after finishing update restart Windows once.*
