Question AMD 3900X overclock - BIOS or Ryzan Master?!

    Hey guys,

I'd like to get the maximum out of my 3900X - looking into a min. 4,3 or 4,4 GHz overclock. I know it is like lottery though.

I have never overclocked a AMD. I have seen various youtube videos about BIOS settings but also about people using ryzan master in combination. How do you guys overclock a 3900X? Any you recommand any BIOS settings or Rzan Master settings?

    Here is my setup:

    AMD 3900X
    MSI 570 ACE
CPU Cooling Alphacool Eisbaer LT360 or Extreme (will test both)
    G.Skill 64 GB 3200 mhz CL14
    NVIDIA GTX 1080
    1000 PSU

    Thank you in advance,
    Alex

While I do not own that CPU I have overclocked several Ryzen CPU's and if you want to get the most out of them you want to tweak some BIOS settings like Digi+ VRM and AMD CBS to get the most out of them. Also, something to worth noting here is that the 3000 series is running pretty much at the max so you tweaking vcore will help with thermals but not so much with frequency.

    agree bios.

memory o/c will typically yield best results.

My settled/daily Cinebench 2.0 score is @ 7241. Can extract about another 100 points without o/c the 3900x just the memory.
