X570 Gaming-f D.O.C.P. issues, Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600

I've got a problem running the D.O.C.P. settings of my RAM.

When I set the Profile everythin works just fine, no problems occured while running AIDA64 stresstest (about 2 hours). When I shut down my computer and turn it on again it won't boot. The DRAM LED is lit, no picture occures on the monitor, only thing that helps is a CMOS reset. When i restart the computer while running the D.O.C.P. profile everythin is just fine as well, no problems, no DRAM LED, normal booting.

I don't want to use the CMOS reset, everytime I shut down the computer, but I really want to run it with the RAM on 3600Mhz, because I've got a much better performance while gaming.

The D.O.C.P. profile is:
clock: 3597Mhz
latency: 18-22-22-42
voltage: 1,35V

Technical Data on the Corsair website says:
clock 3600Mhz
latency: 18-19-19-39
voltage: 1,35V

My hardware:

Rog Strix X570 Gaming-f
Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600 Mhz 16GB (2x8GB) C18
AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
Sapphire RX5700XT Pulse
Corsair RM750i

When everything is set to Auto the RAM runs on 2666Mhz with 1,2V and I've got no problem while booting (except I had to activate CSM, otherwise I can't boot from any device connected and get stuck in the UEFI?!).

My MoBo has BIOS version 0807 and I already thought about updating it, but I read a lot about problems with BIOS updates on X570 boards.
Also had one myself with a MSI X570 Pro Carbon Gaming. After the BIOS Update nothing booted either and the CPU controll LED was lit, flashing to the old BIOS version with the BIOS flashback button didn't worked as well. Because of this I'm a little bit uncertain regarding a BIOS update.

Has anyone experienced similar problems? Would it help to set the clock and latency manually (propably like given from Corsair)? I've never overclocked RAM myself, always just loaded D.O.C.P. / XMP profiles, is there anything else besides setting lateny, clock and voltage I have to do?

I found your thread via Google - unfortunately I don't have a solution to your issue, but I am experiencing the same thing on my Prime-X570 Pro with G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 3600 RAM.

I'm on BIOS 1404. Usually fails POST from cold boot with the DRAM LED on any time DOCP is enabled (2x16GB, DDR4 3600, CL16, 16-19-19-19). The weird thing is, when it does boot it's perfectly stable, passed 8 runs of Memtest86 with no issues at DOCP settings, restarts fine, etc. Just fails to POST quite often from cold boot (probably 3 times out of every 5).

I have noticed that the longer it sits, the more likely it is to fail POST. If it's stuck at a POST failure with the DRAM LED on, I can hold the power button to turn off, then press again to re-initiate startup, and it will usually boot this way with DOCP settings on the second or third try...

On Reddit and LinusTechTips others are reporting the same issue, many people are thinking the culprit is low DRAM Vboot which is set to 1.2 and not adjustable in TUF/Prime BIOS (not sure on your board). People have also noticed that manually set RAM timings default to DOCP values after booting.

It seems to be a BIOS issue that has not been resolved...

I get the exact same issue on a B450-I with the latest bios (2901). If I leave it off overnight, it won't post for roughly 1-3 attempts. Feels random. Prime95 stable overnight, memtest stable overnight, etc.

Surest way to get it to post is to open up my case, toggle the power supply switch off, hold the power button to drain any current (LEDs turn off), then try.

Unbelievably frustrating.

Edit - Interesting. Read online that the 2703 BIOS was pretty good for the B450-i. I downgraded and the fans only spin for about 2-3 seconds instead of 7+ on POST. Wondering if this is going to be more stable. I'll report back tomorrow morning. (Another Edit, same issue, still broken trash.)

Well, at least I know to never purchase Asus again in the future. Should have paid less for a better MSI board.
