ASUS TUF B450-PRO - m2 gen2?

Hi everyone,

Few days ago I bought ASUS TUF B450-PRO Gaming - It looks really cool but I'm wondering about M2 speed. I've got Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB and I searched on official site https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/TUF-B450-PRO-GAMING/ and It says: With x 4 PCI Express® 3.0 bandwidth, M.2 supports up to 32Gbps data-transfer speeds.. I checked Samsung Magican and... It's gen 2.

My question is: what I did wrong? I missed any drivers? I installed newest chipset drivers, latest BIOS and nothing.

Thanks.

I went into BIOS optiom in [Advanced] -> [OnBoard Devices Configuration] -> [PCIEX16_2 4x-2x Switch] and i've got few questions so far:

1) Why it's called 16_2?
2) I turned it to force 4x and... I cannot see my evo. I've got single graphic card, 1SSD and 1HDD, nothing more. Just black screen.

Thanks for reply.

I just want to close this topic, because of little misunderstanding. This motherboard have 2 m.2 sockets - upper and lower. I screwed up and I put my disk on the lower socket with max bandwith like SATA, upper socket support PCIE 3.0 x 4 mode, as in specification:

1 x M.2 Socket 3, with M key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 storage devices support (SATA & PCIE 3.0 x 4 mode)*2
1 x M.2 Socket 3, with M key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 storage devices support (SATA mode)*

So if someone can, please close this topic and thanks anyway.
