What is this brown colored film around CPU - Asus X200MA?

HI,
While I was exploring some laptop motherboards mainly interested in Asus X200MA board, I came across a few photos where a sort of brown colored reflective layer is seen along the Intel mobile computing (Laptop) CPU.
The photo may not be very clear but should give you some idea. Photo source – Aliexpress.com
What is this brown reflective layer around the CPU? Is it part of the board? Should it be removed before installation or should it be left as is?

Thanks.

Thin film (Kapton sheet/tape) protects the components that surround the CPU from shorting/arcing, because of the heatsinks (metal/copper) tight tolerance.

Thanks a lot for the clarity. Appreciate your input. I certainly learn something new here on this forum every now and then.
