Okay, just to be clear. I'm building the Asus ROG Rampage VI Extreme Encore Motherboard. The Manual said to use either both 8 pins or use one 8 pin with the 6 pin. It had a clear warning to use the 6 pin with the 8 pin if your running multiple Graphic cards or to use both 8 pin. It didn't mention anything about connecting power to both 8 pin and the 6 pin sockets (Basically connecting power to them all). So, my question to the community at large here, is won't connecting power to all of them damage the Motherboard? Or does it just provides the maximum amount of power to the motherboard it is designed to handle or use?
Perhaps off topic, I was trying find out how to buy the motherboards thermal sensor that the manual said I needed to purchase separately. Any clue?

Yes RIVE had a 6 pin for the GPUs
The manual is quite clear...i don't know how so many fail to read it or fail to understand it.
EZ molex connection is for multi GPU
Order of importance:
Populate 8pin....
Populate both 8pins
Populate both 8 pins and 6pin
Maybe populate 8pin and 6pin if you are missing cables.
However...a PSU that could handle the board and all you throw at it should have all the cables to fully populate all connectors. if your PSU doesn't have the cables then you should probably question your hardware choices...

I find it misleading to have a 6 pin power connector as a 6 pin Pci-E connector point fits into place. However, the polarity of the 6-pin Pci-E connector is the opposite of the polarity of the socket indicated in the manual. I think the Pci-E power connector can only be used if it is converted by reversing the polarity or using a commercially available converter

ok be careful.
1. the 6 pin is a normal PCIe connector - confirmed.
2. the original user guide (paper) that comes with the board had the 6 pin connector illustrated as a ATX special 6 pin connector with reversed polarity compared to the PCIe 6 pin.
3. without much fanfare ASUS updated their user guide to Version E16039 in November! BUT DID NOT published it until April 10 wtf - look it up here: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards...lpDesk_Manual/ and in this user guide they have corrected the page with the illustration to correctly show a 6 pin PCIe connector.
So the confusion was real and not fake, but the end result is that it is a PCIe 6 pin connector, and I can confirm that 100% since I use that daily for months!
I can also confirm that a 6 pin ATX special cable do not work MB and the if you install one the MB will not boot (got that one last year before they bothered to publish a new user guide)

For 6pin, GND and 12v are "inverted", Asus has planned which original PSU cable to "connect" this 6pin ?
