get A newer RTX 20xx card. 10xx cards will bottleneck your cpu

On a limited budget I would go with a used card. In that price range you could get a GTX1060 6GB or an RX580. Just look on Craigslist and Ebay.

With a limited budget another choice is also the GTX 1650 or 1660. These are great cards for 1080P. They get the job done for under $300 USD

imo you dont need anything more than a 6 gig 1060. readily avaliable for 150 bucks.you could go for a 1660 or rtx whatever but the question is do you really need it?

There is also a new card that just got released. The EVGA GeForce RTX 2060™ KO. It is between the normal one and the Super model.

Good cards that can be found fairly cheap today (ebay have very high prices in general), local marketplaces is better

For 1080p gaming 60fps on a budget (used market +/- depending on model):

    Radeon R9 390, 390X (60-100 usd) / 4gb-8gb
    Radeon RX 470, 480, 570, 580 (60-120 usd) / 4gb-8gb
    Geforce GTX 780ti, 970 (70-100 usd) / 3gb-3,5gb
    Geforce GTX 980 (90-120usd) / 4gb
Geforce GTX 980ti is a solid buy, if you can find one very cheap / 6gb
Many of these cards can run many modern games 1080p/60 with ultra settings
There are other cards also like Radeon R9 380X, 290X, Geforce 1060 etc, depending on your performance needs
For around 100 usd you will get a card that can run games pretty well today 1080p/60
Avoid reference models (poor cooling and noisy) and Matrix, Lightning, Classified, Kingpin, HOF often sells for more than the regular ones

One tips is to ask the seller to show that he actually have the card he is advertising (this is a rare card i purchased some time back, the only 10 phases GTX 970)
Ask the seller to place an object of your choice on the card, and make sure the warranty seal is in place (if the card comes with one, NEVER buy used HW thats been tinkered with)
    Many scammers out there, beware

Geforce GTX 980, 980ti, 1060/6gb and Radeon RX 580/8gb is good used market candidates for 1080p on a budget in 2020

But my personal pick for gaming would be Geforce GTX 980ti (if you can find one cheap @150 usd or less)

Most of the cards above require a reputable PSU @550w or greater

Good luck, and dont pay too much..

    Maxwell still kicks a**
