Hello guys,
I have a z390-I motherboard and I notice that the M2 heatsink is hot (50°) without a ssd installed. Why?
I have fear of put my ssd in this slot..
My CPU is 9900k and it is on 5GHz (I saw the guide of der8dler).

Thanks for any information

How are you measuring that temp?

The Z390-I is a tight layout. The M2 socket is squeezed between the GPU, memory, and CPU. It is very close to the CPU socket. Temps are going to be high for that location due to heatsoak throughout the area. That said, I see M2 ssd run comfortable up to 60c.

I would try increasing case airflow, and try to improve on CPU cooling to reduce socket area heat soak.

mmmm i realise this.

Where is the chipset? i think the chipset is down the m2 slot… so this is why it is so hot… no???

1. The area is not hot. Cpu cooling is ok (60-65° when i play)
2. I removed the GPU for test and nothing change. The backplate of the gpu is cool…
3. i removed the heatsink and where you put the screw is hot (on image in red), WHY?????
