M.2 compatibility

I just bought a ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING and a SSD Western Digital of 240 GB, M.2 SATA III (6Gb/s). The MoBo did not detect the drive.

I was told by the store that it was not compatible. I went to the MoBo webpage to check the compatibility and it states 1X M.2 Socket 3.

I had to get a 2.5 SSD and I want to use a M.2. I am using a Ryzen 7 3700X processor. Can anyone help me letting me know what M.2 SSD's are compatible?

I appreciate the reply.

Thanks for the response. So basically I need a NVMe drive, the one that has 5 connectors only.
