ROG Strix X299-E Gaming II Compatible Ram Configuration?
Hello,
I'm looking at building a PC using the ROG Strix X299-E Gaming II Motherboard. It says it will support up to 256Gig of Ram with 8 x Dimm (quad channel).
However, when I look at the RAM QVL document, it doesn't list any compatible chip configuration for 8x32GB
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/m...M_QVL_1008.pdf
I'll be running the INTEL® CORE™ i9-10980XE , so no concern about the processor supporting that much RAM. But it will only support up to 2933MHz
I've been looking at:
VENGEANCE® LPX 256GB (8 x 32GB) DDR4 DRAM 2666MHz - Model CMK256GX4M8A2666C16
or
Ripjaws V DDR4-2666MHz CL18-18-18-43 1.20V (8 x 32GB) - Model F4-2666C18Q2-256G
But I want to be sure it will work, before I put out the cash. Seen messages about it only reading 128Gig of Ram, once installed.
Any advice on RAM type that will be compatible for 256Gig on the ROG Strix X299-E Gaming II Motherboard?
Thanks

Hi,
G-skill looks like it has better tested latency 18-18-18-43 seems like samsung b-die to me
Corsair always has loose tested latency timings sure sign it's hynix memory.
