    Another Ram question w/Rampage III Extreme

    Hello everyone, noob here at the boards.
    I'm partly finishing a new build here. I'm down to the dilemma of buying compatible ram. So with that said here is my question.
    ========
    i7-950
    Asus Rampage Extreme III
    ==================
    When I purchased my Extreme board I asked the gentleman I wanted to buy the ram while I'm here. Next I explained to him I wanted to run 4-6GB of ram but I was unclear of the compatibility as far as brand. So taking his word he gave me the following:
    OCZ 6GB OCZ3G2000LV6GK DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) 10-10-10-30 @ 1.65v (3x2GB)

    Well eventually I got home and after reading the manual I check the QVL page. I see OCZ brand is listed but not those sticks. Also those timings look a kinda extreme from the QVL stats.

    I drove 20 miles during a snow storm that Pelted 8 inches of snow. So I'm hoping I do not have to make another trip. However worse case I do need to make another trip would these be better suited for the Extreme :
    1. Corsair CMG4GX3M3A2000C 4GB DOMINATOR-GT DDR3-2000 (PC-16000)
    2. Corsair CMT4GX3M2A2000C DOMINATOR-GT 4GB DDR3-2000 (PC3-16000)
    3. OCZ OCZ3P2000LV4GK Platinum 4GB DDR3-2000 (PC3-16000) CL9

    I appreciate any help!!!

    I think most would agree here that most issues when it comes to compatability are OCZ related, there have been alot of issues with OCZ memory and the Core iX line.

    Corsair is perfectly fine though, others I'd recommend Patriot is at the top of my list compared to all others.

    Don't be surprised if you can't reach the rated speeds of 2000MHz, I would suggest setting all voltages manualy and before anything else once you have the memory set, start with a couple Memtest runs.
    Intel Core i7 5930K @ 4.8GHz, Asus Rampave V Extreme U3.1, Kingston HyperX Fury 2666MHz 32GB DDR4 ( 4x8GB ), Nvidia GeForce Titan-X SLI, Creative Labs E3 USB Soundcard, Samsung 950 Pro 512GB M.2 NVME, Corsair AXi 1500i PSU, Corsair 900D, Corsair K95 RGB Keyboard, Logitech Proteus Core Mouse, Acer Predator X34 @ 100Hz, Sennheiser Gamer Zero, Windows 10 Professional

    I had some weird issues with Mushkin sticks, switched over to G.Skill's and everything ran smooth.
