Rampage VI Extreme CPU Error 00
My Rampage VI Extreme suddenly crashed on me yesterday and now it won't boot at all.
The display shows a picture of the CPU with Error 00...
My setup is
I7 7800x
16GB G-skill 3200hmz
EVGA 1080 classified
Sandisk 512 SSD
I have swapped out every component just to be sure and still will not boot. However I have noticed that the BIOS switch button doesn't work anymore either as the LED wont switch to the second BIOS ... could the bios or the chip itself be messed up ?
I have tried Bios FlashBack and that failed 100% ... flash 5 times then solid blue light meaning failed.
Not sure what else I can do besides contacting Asus to see if they can fix it... I know its not the socket as the pins are perfect.

Contact your local ASUS support first then they'll inform you to sending your board to test.

Well i got a reply from Asus support who were no help at all.
Im sure whoever replied to me has 0% technical experiance as he said RMA it...a motherbaord which is clearly out of warrenty which I told support in my first message to them.
To make matters worse he ends with this nice little sentence:
"ASUS has no other policy on these devices; We cannot replace or repair these devices"

OMG! Sad to hear that mate. Maybe RAMPAGE VI EXTREME was EOL and they'd only OMEGA and ENCORE on their stock.
Let do this. First pickup your CPU to testing with other X299 mobo. If it working well with other mobo that your mobo was gone.
If not and your CPU still won't work at all. Trying ticket with Intel staff and beginning your CPU RMA process. It'll took around
15-30 working days but everything is free. Intel will sending you and RMA kit soon.
Other choice If you want to upgrade from your exist system to future system.
X299 and LGA 2066 was nearly EOL too. The LGA 4189 Icelake SP/X is coming on H2 2020.
If you can waiting. I'd recommend to going with LGA 4189 with 8CH DDR4 PCIe 4.0 better.Windows 11 22H2 Build 25126.1000 Core i9 7980XE 02006D05 MCU 2021-11-13 R6E 3601 MODDED BIOS TPM 2.0 Enabled VROC 7.7.0.1054 + RST 18.31.3.5434 ME FW 11.12.92.2222 DV 2204.2.62.0 64GB DDR4 3200 XMP POSEIDON 1080i GTX NVIDIA Driver 512.95 WHQL 3TB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS OMS Driver 18.37.0.1003 WHQL i219 V OROM 0.1.02 BA 0.1.16 12.19.2.45 WHQL AQC 107N FW 3.1.121 AQC 3.1.6.0 WHQL Realtek HD 6.0.9341.1 WHQL SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G9 49 NEO FW 1008 VESA HDR 2000 DP

Oh I tried my CPU and other components in a different board and they all worked fine, it is basically the motherboard that is faulty..well the BIOS chip is at least since it doesn't want to switch or anything like that.
Yea the Extreme is EOL but I never liked the Omega or Encore mainly due to the fact i prefered the lighting effects of the Extreme as I don't like RGB fans all over the place. Plus I have a U.2 1tb intel drive which new board don't have the connector for anymore ( why i keep investing in obsolete formats)
As for upgrading .. well I'm curntly running on borrowed time with this current setup:
Rampage III Extreme Black Edition
I7 980X
12GB Corsair Domminator DDR3 Tripple Channel 1366mhz
EVGA GTX 1080 classified
Also I don't mind being a generation behind as i have never been able to afford the newest stuff right away

I see and I also love R6E too. The only choice now was buying any second hand R6E for your rigs mate. R6E was the most powerful mobo compare to ENCORE and OMEGA.

My *extreme did the same, tried components on another board and all worked well, rma’d board and yes it had died.
Because the R6e is now end of life as they call it, I was offered the Omega!
Now just got to do the rebuild and wait for new Optimus foundation block to arrive.

Got another reply from Asus after asking what i should do since the board, they said i should try a third party repair place if I wanted to.
Don't really have many where i live sadly but I have options.
I know there is no way to tell without testing but, going from the fact the BIOS switch doesn't work and won't change to the second Bios would it be an idication that the Bios chip is nackered and could be the cause of it all.
Replacing a single chip is better than doing god knows what to the board.
