I am thinking about replacing the Double Capacity 3200 memory for much faster kits? Anyone experience any issues with 4266 and up using XMP profiles to get the speed right ?

What kind of problems are we seeing if any at all ?

Searching the site has come up blank on the topic.

With 1302 BIOS 4600MHz 2x8GB Corsair kit boots in XMP mode plug and play 100% stable, and with some manual tweaking 4800MHz will.

I'm running 1401 BIOS now and 4600MHz will not boot in XMP, but can use manual settings to get 100% stable,.. 4800MHz is a no go with 1401 BIOS.

Thanks.. I Just bought the GSKILL 4600 memory from the QVL on the ASUS support site and GSKILL configurator. Basically this memory was designed for APEX and GENE only. It better work with 1401

I will provide updates as I go along. I welcome other comments and support on this question with your experiences.

Thanks.

It is a treat to tweak memory on.

Cool I might need to do that if the XMP profile doesn't work on the new GSKILL F4-4600C18D-16GTRG coming in by monday.

I'm looking at the new Crucial Ballistix Max 32GB (16GBx2) 4400MHz kit. https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/ballistix-max

Crucial's new Micron chips do vary well on AMD X570, Ryzen 3000 systems. I'm going to see if they also work on Intel Z390.

FWIW, running 2x8 4266 C19 on M11 Apex. XMP 1 and 1401. Without using manual.

Great to hear. I hope the new Gskill 4600 works without issue. 🙂

Hi. Several people here with i9-9900KS like 1401 Bios. I have tried 1401 Bios on two occasions. My PC becomes extremely unstable. I can't get anywhere near settings as with 1302 Bios. In the end I booted with completely default bios settings, no xmp. logged into Windows and PC dies after 2-3 min without touching anything.
You may not get any problems, it probably depends on what hardware combination you have.

I have tested several frequencies with my G-skill 4600, but this is Final i think. It always boot and i get no errors with Memtest Pro, Memtest86 Pro, Aida64 or MemTest64 and I have played Assassins Creed Origins 85 hours without any problems. So they are stable enough.

In Bios:
DRAM 1.4850v
Vccio 1.2875v
SA 1.2937v

PLL Bandwidth Level 0

Just to add to this tread. I got the Gskill Royal 4600c memory. I could get it working at 4600 but the vccio needed to make it work was almost 1.4v

I got it running safely and stably at 4400. I am still happy with the awesome results but I don't know how they can think you can run a top end machine at 1.4v ish for vccio and system agent. way too high in my opinion.
