PG35VQ best settings? Bad video quality compared to old IPS

Good day,

I just got my PG35VQ today!

Screen size is great, but I struggle to find good settings for the monitor and the Nvidia control panel and Windows HDR settings.

My GPU is a 2080Ti, the Nvidia setting is 3440x1440@144Hz, 10bit, RGB, Gsync enabled for fullscreen and windowed..

Windows HDR is disabled.

Monitor is set to racing, FALD enabled.

Now I stretched a YouTube HDR video (Christmas lights HDR) over both my old screen and the ROG next to it, see attached foto. The left is the old, right is the ROG. Picture quality looks terrible. For some reason nearly all information gets lost on the new screen.

I also tried the same video with Windows HDR enabled, still looked the same.

Any help? Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Because right now I'm not sure I spent 3K the right way...

Looks like this forum is as dead as the monitor itself (quality-wise)... Will send it back and get something else.

The forum cannot accept harsh words on high-end products.
PG35VQ uses a VA panel with a 500k:1 contrast ratio. The FALD is not a good thing with such high contrast. Any excessive backlight will bloom like a superstar.

I have my PG35VQ since August 2019

I come from a 30" Dell U3011 2560x1600 IPS monitor and didn't like the settings out of the box.
The settings I change and that i like for my self are:

From default monitor settings I changed:

1 Over Clocking Max Refresh Rate 200Hz - ON
2 Image - Variable Backlight - OFF
3 ECO Mode - OFF
4 Display SDR Input - Wide Gamut
5 DP SDR YCbCr sRGB Gamma - OFF

In Nvidia control Panel ( I have a 2080TI)

Change Resolution:
3440x1440@200Hz
Use Nvidia color settings:

Desktop Color Depth: Highest 32 bit
Output Coloer Format: YCbCr444
Output Color Depth: 8 bpc
Output Dynamice Range: Limited

Adjust Desktop Color Settings:

2. Choose how coler is set.
Use Nvidia Settings:
All Channels:
Brightness: 50%
Contrast: 55%
Gamma: 1.00

3. Apply the following enhancements:
Digital Vibrance: 70%

Enable G-SYNC

In Windows HDR - OFF

The settings I use I like for myself it's more colorful and good for gaming.

I use your config for my PG349Q and it works well for it.
