Apologies for the dual post... I had posted this earlier in another thread however it seems more applicable here...
I've just upgraded to the new 3006 release and the system won't boot. It hangs with an error code of 00 (which is strange because this is not used). Once the system hangs, if I turn off the power and then turn the system back on, it boots...?
Had a look at the various bios settings and found if I turn off XMP (which I've run since day one), the system boots.
Anyone else experiencing this?

If I knew what I know now I would not have installed this BIOS. If you havent yet and you are wondering if you should, don't. It is obviously made in the tradition of Asus software and has a lot of problems.
Just my two cents.

this took 2 weeks to figure out lol
i won't even try to figure out why my sound card had no issues in 2002 just in 3006 on board is fine with my avr hooked up with spdif cableLast edited by EaglePC; 02-23-2020 at 10:20 AM.

Load up HW monitor and check your CPU core temperatures and clock speeds. A few of us who have installed this BIOS have seen that our systems are running at crazy clock speeds and CPU core temperatures. You'd also be wise to monitor those for at least a few days.
In my case I had no idea because my CPU temperature looked fine. It was only the core temperatures somehow and not the CPU temperature (the package or socket?) that were indicating trouble (on an aside, this is fishy if you ask me). The fans and Asus Ryujin water cooler also did nothing--yeah, nothing to cool the cores. Only when I manually set my fans (industrial grade Noctua) to blast away at full speed did the cores cool somewhat.
Edit: In case anyone is interested, after flashing the previous BIOS, 0802 my system is back to working properly. Hence, in my case, it is certain 3006 was the source of the high core clock speeds (near 4100 MHz at idle) and high CPU core temperatures (70 or so degree at idle under no load). If you are curious and want more info, I have posted in a few similar threads for this family of motherboards very recently.Last edited by Super Gnome; 02-25-2020 at 07:55 AM.
