RYZEN upgrade, HELP please.

I have an urgent question... doing upgrade today, in like an hour. Currently, my Son has the ASUS ROG Strix B450-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 7 1700X 3.4 GHz 8-Core Processor in his everyday gaming rig.He recently bought an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-core, 24-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Prism... with winnings he earned in a competitive Fortnite tournament.TODAY I have to install the new CPU into his rig.Is the new CPU compatible with his current mobo... is it just a remove/replace installation?Do the BIOS in the mobo need to be updated/changed before install? Is there anything I need to be aware of that may ruin his rig or make it unusable? Thanks.

BIOS updated. CPU installed and posted/booted up.
FPS in game (Fortnite) increased dramatically.
Gained 100+ FPS in some scenarios.
