ROG G752VT - Safe to Close lid and Heat Issues?

Hi,
I had a laptop before this one, where I used it with a closed lid, since I just used 2 external monitor. That laptop ended with the battery being inflated - had to replace the battery and worked fine after.

My question is if it's safe to close the lid on this one (no pun intended 🙂 ), or does closing the lid is just a big no-no?

Also, is there a need to open it up once a year +/- to clean from the inside, and if yes is there a video guide on how to do that?

Thanks in advance...

If you're going to close the lid, ensure you have the monitor turned off under your display utilities. I guess you have to change Windows power settings as well so the laptop doesn't shut off. In either case I think it's a bad idea. It's not meant to operate like that.

There are a number of videos on Youtube. I have the G752VT and G752VY, they are easy enough to service. This one here will get you to the point where you can open and get to the fans for cleaning. Although I don't think you need to, unless you work in a dirty environment. I've never had an issue with either of mine.
